Hell’s Gate Bass Club Meeting August 11, 2014

Meeting was called to order at 7:01 pm First Steve McCain, second Tony Wallace.

Old business:

Bruce Ray reported on efforts to organize the Sporting Clays Shoot.

Due to lack of being able to put anything together, a motion was made to

postpone the August 23 date to a later, yet undetermined date. The motion

carried unanimously. Discussion was made to various options as to a future date.

Mike Halford passed around a brochure from the YMCA Camp as example of how

the Club might produce a similar brochure for the future shoot.

Further discussion and suggestions were made as to change of venue for the

shoot. The Graham Skeet Club was offered as a potential location. It was agreed

that this was a viable option, and noted that it would take considerable work to

set up a Sporting Clays Range there, although it would probably be made available

by Jerry Cooper. The Elk Castle Range was offered as another option.

Other options for a fund raiser were discussed which included a dinner, a music

event, a raffle, and a bass tournament.

The Top Six Tournament was discussed, it was determined that a lack of

participants and interest in fishing Lake Lewisville the Bass Club would not attend.

Johnny Hicks made a motion to that effect, Eddie McCracken seconded the

motion and the motion was carried by unanimous vote.

New Business:

Nominations for a Lake for the September tournament were

Lake Graham, and Possum Kingdom. A majority voted for Possum Kingdom.

The tournament will be on September 21; 6:00 am till 3:00 pm; weigh-in will be at the South D&D Boat Ramp.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:33 pm by motion of Steve McCain and second of Don Welch.

The raffle was held; $68.00 raised, Mike Halford was the winner of H2O Baits.
