Grahams Eddie McCracken bested all comers and conquered the conditions to take the top spot in the Hells Gate Bass Club’s July Tournament. McCracken, a wylie veteran, with a life time of experience fishing Possum Kingdom, not only won the tournament but captured the Big Bass of 8.02 lb. Bobby Koncak eased into 2nd place while Mineral Wells resident, Don Welch secured 3rd place. Local John McCracken, cousin of Eddie Snuck into 4th and retiree Steve McCain grabbed the 5th hole. McCracken said it was a real challenge to contend with all the boat traffic and wave action to fish his spots and the heat with much breeze. Graham’s Pal Newsom secured free entry into the August Tournament with his 2.48 lber. Barry Smith once again won the Best Dressed Award. Koncak, with his second place finish, extended his lead in the Year to Date Tournament. Steve McCain vaulted Smith into 2nd place, while local guide Mike Hallford remained in 4th and Welch solidified 5th place.
The August Tournament will be fished on P.K. on the 16th from 6.00 am to 3.00 pm with weigh in being at the temporary ramp adjacent to The Harbor Marina.
